Re: 8 Year Old Shoots 5 Year Old Brother at Motel Different Versions Emerge In Child's Shooting By Robert Arnold POSTED: Wednesday, June 15, 2011 UPDATED: 5:36 pm CDT June 15, 2011 EmailEmail PrintPrint Google Buzz Digg Delicious HOUSTON -- During an emergency court hearing Wednesday, differing accounts emerged as to how a 7-year-old was able to get a hold of a shotgun and, according to police, accidentally shoot and kill his 5-year-old brother in a room at Motel 6 off the Katy Freeway near Highway 6. Video: Hearing Held For Boy Accused Of Shooting Brother Child Protective Services was granted temporary custody of Jacob Del Sol, 7. The boy's father, Vincent Del Sol, was not present for the hearing. A CPS worker testified Del Sol told them he needed to "earn some quick cash" because his car and wallet were taken by police and that he did not feel "he could provide a safe environment for his son." During the hearing, a CPS worker told the judge that Del Sol told police his boys got the shotgun out of his jeep. "Those (expletive) numb-skulls got into my truck, got the shotgun, got bullets from the console, loaded it and took it back to the room," a CPS worker said to the judge when recounting answers he said Del Sol gave to the police. The CPS worker also told the judge the 7-year-old was interviewed by a psychologist at the Children's Assessment Center and said the boy explained "the shotgun was left laying on the bed." The CPS worker told the judge he was present for that interview. The CPS worker also testified the father explained to police he was only out of the room for 8 minutes when the shooting occurred and his 5-year-old, Nathan, was killed. On Tuesday, police told Local 2 Investigates the father explained he left the room to pay his bill. Local 2 Investigates also tracked down the boys' mother, Adriana Green. Court records showed she is in the Caldwell County jail for violating conditions of her probation stemming from a child endangerment charge. Court records obtained by Local 2 Investigates read Green was charged after her son, Jacob, was able to get out of the house and later found wandering a half mile away near Highway 183 in the town of Lockhart. An affidavit filed with the court for Wednesday's hearing shows CPS became involved in the family's life because of the incident in 2007 and closed the case in September 2008. The affidavit showed the mother was arrested last month for violating her probation on these charges. The affidavit filed with the court also reads Green had two daughters with another man while living in California. Court records show child welfare workers in that state took custody of the girls "due to drug usage" by the mother. Court records showed one girl was adopted by another family and her sister was sent to live with relatives. Another custody hearing for the 7-year-old is scheduled for June 27. CPS workers testified the boy has a maternal grandmother in La Mesa, California. No word yet on whether charges will be filed against the father. |

Re: 8 Year Old Shoots 5 Year Old Brother at Motel Normally, I would ask where the father was. In this case, where was the mother? Disregard that. She is in jail. Very sad for all the children! They should give them to the women who want them and cannot have them! These stories make me very sad and pissed off! |
