700 Dead in Med
A boat full of refugees/illegal immigrants has capsized in Lybian waters with an estimated 700 dead. Boat was leaking and possibly out of fuel. They saw a merchant vessel and they charged to one side capsizing the boat. Those rescued claimed many where locked below decks and stood no chance. |

As much as I dislike such an attitude I have to agree. Look at what Australia did. They stopped giving asylum to people with no documents and the rate of incoming immigrants dropped overnight. The EU should do the same even if it's a solution of such finality.  |

This is just a few days after the boat sank with 400 dead. There will of course be the usual fatalities of those towed out and abandoned by the smugglers sometimes in rafts made from plastic bottles and small inflatables with10, 20's or so on board. I I was a sea realitor/estate agent I would be advertising in Shark Weekly offering prime feeding grounds for sale.....  |
