69 Year Old Twin Prostitutes Steal the Show at Cannes
Keep an eye out for this documentary in a cinema near you, "Meet the Fokkens", tells the story of twins Louise and Martine, who work as prostitutes in Amsterdam, the Netherlands. They're 69 years old, so you might say they're acting their age. Louise retired two years ago due to arthritis, but Martine still works in her window in Amsterdam's infamous red light district. The U.S. rights to the documentary were snapped up at the Cannes film festival. It will screen at the Silverdocs Film Festival in D.C. in June, premiere in New York theatres in August, and is expected to roll out nationwide later in the year.  · |
