Considering the fact that crocs can eat and digest pretty much anything, I'm really not surprised their bile - even in incredibly small doses - could kill human beings.  I mean, just imagine how corrosive the bile must be to dissolve the stuff crocs eat sometimes  No wonder it can shut down a human being from the inside.

The article says that it found croc bile NOT to be lethal. You'd need a massive amount to even start down that road. They think it was far more likely to have been a poison derived from a plant source. |
