6 Year Old Girl Saves Choking Friend's Life
Shockingly cool 6-year-old saves choking classmate's life Elspeth "Beanie" Mar was in the middle of her lunch when a friend across the table choked on a bite of apple. Mar calmly stood up, performed the Heimlich Maneuver on classmate Aniyah Rigmaiden, then returned to her own half-eaten meal. Beanie is 6 years old, and though she might not be impressed by her potentially life-saving reaction, we sure are. Mar told her astonished teacher that she learned how to perform the Heimlich from an episode of "A.N.T. Farm," a Disney Channel kids' show. "Everyone is OK, and [Beanie] is still not quite sure what everyone is amazed about," Beanie's mom, Amy Peterson, said. "It proves you don't have to be big and strong to save a life."  · |
