51 Died in North Macedonia, Fire in a Discotheque
In the early hours of today 16.03.2025, flame started from fireworks at a discotheque at the town of Kocani, North Macedonia. No gore photos or video here, sorry. Please add if you found some. Some sources claim the dead number rise to 59. More than 100 people are injured, 18 of them in critical condition. I'm posting video of the beginning of the fire, actual photos of the building and aftermath near by the local hospital. |

Holy Fuck! This is like a reenactment of the "Station Nightclub Fire", with the band Great White setting off the SAME kind of fireworks, the fire taking hold on the ceiling, and then exploding into an inferno! |

Same scenario with only one exit too, and people not being allowed to go backstage. I still get pissed off whenever I think about the bouncer who denied people from exiting backstage. Think about how many people could've been saved.

Think about how many people might've been saved if they were Documenting Reality members who had seen the Station nightclub fire and other indoor pyrotechnic disasters.

Re: 51 Died in North Macedonia, Fire in a Discotheque
The venue, a former carpet warehouse, was operating illegally with a hospitality license allegedly obtained through bribery, lacking basic safety measures such as fire alarms, adequate extinguishers,(only 1) and emergency exits. Only one effective exit was identified in the building, as the venue's back door was locked. 500 people were inside. Apart from being locked, the back door did not have a handle on the inside, was covered with drywall, and was lined with flammable soundproofing materials. The building was made of flammable drywall. The building was only certified for light industry and not for catering, and there was no written contract between the band and the club owners. An ambulance driver in Kočani who was transporting victims to the hospital throughout the day, died in his sleep on 17 March, a day after the fire, after he had returned home to rest. Andrej Gjorgieski, one of DNK's lead singers, was confirmed dead along with the band's photographer Aleksandar Efremov, backing singer Sara Projkovska, drummer Gjorgji Gjorgiev and keyboard player Filip Stevanovski. Two of the band members survived the initial fire, but died later in the afternoon. Vladimir Blazev, one of DNK's lead singers, suffered burns to his face and hands and was provided with oxygen therapy. In total, all the members of the band other than Blazev died as a result of the fire. A police officer at the club checking for drugs and minors was killed in the fire. KF Shkupi football player Andrej Lazarov suffered from smoke inhalation and burn injuries while trying to rescue club patrons, and died a short time after in the hospital. Damjan Taneski, a young football goalkeeper from Štip, and Petar Ivanovski, a basketball player for Basket Dino Delicacies from Kočani, were also among the victims of the fire. The government has arrested 20 individuals, including the club manager and government officials, with the Interior Ministry indicating more arrests are expected, some involving its own employees. Angry citizens in Kočani demolished the café of the owner of the disco where at least 59 people were killed in a fire. |

Re: 51 Died in North Macedonia, Fire in a Discotheque
Yes, so far the number of deceased people is 59, aged 14 to 30 years old. Most of the Balkan countries offered North Macedonia authorities medical assistance, so now out of around 150 in hospital, 77 are outside their own country, at different hospitals as follow: Turkey - 9 patients Bulgaria - 14 patients /all of the into medical coma/ Greece - 5 patients Serbia - 17 patients Hungary - 2 patients Lithuania - 4 patients There are some at Slovenia, Austria and Croatia as well. Wish those young people complete recovery! |
