Re: 5 Year Old Suspended From School For Mohawk!
Haven't seen the teacher. She was probably jealous she never had a great Mohawk! My hair would never stand up high back in my punk days, unless it was really short on top. There's a little boy where my great niece attends school and he's got cool hair. Sometimes a Mohawk and sometimes just very cool and he's a cute Hispanic boy. Future heartbreaker I asked his mother if she was a hairdresser, which she is. I didn't imagine a 6 or 7 year old could style his hair so well! |

Re: 5 Year Old Suspended From School For Mohawk!
Kids have to be taught prejudice. They are born accepting everyone. One of my nieces wanted to be black when she was about 10 or so. The great niece wants African American hair, "so she can make cool hair styles." When my nephew was about 6 or so, he was describing a man in line as, "big and black and he had boots on." They call 'em as they see 'em, until adults influence them." |

Re: 5 Year Old Suspended From School For Mohawk!
The teacher was pathetic. What would it hurt to have a mohawk appreciation moment and have all the kids file by and have a look and then return to thier seats for regular lessons. And if anyone else wanted to look some more then gently ask them to do so until everyone is ready to continue. Stupid teacher. Maybe even have them turn in a paper about why they like the mohawk haircut and write down other famous people who have a mohawk.
