It is outrageous and disgusting.

My daughter got her pit from a rescue. It was rescued by the organization when there was a sting at a local dog fighting group. The pup was 8 weeks old and had been used for baiting purposes. She has the scars to show for it. In horrid condition and was not adoptable until 2 months later.

Leaving any dog alone with a baby/kid is seriously asking for tragedy. Even if it was a golden retriever or Pomeranian.

You can never trust dogs or kids completely. No matter how well behaved and/or trained.

i love her, but id smack her in her face if i could!! I have TOLD her over and over again, DONT..... she "swears" the dog is protecting my little Ella, but we have no history on the dog at all! She scares me, she looks wild in the eyes, skiddish, squirrely..... and i would feel that way NO matter what kind of dog it is with the look she has in her eyes.... its hard to explain

No, I understand and know what you mean. A well balanced dog is calm and confident - not nervous or squirrely.

She may not be aggressive, but she should not be the lone protector of little Ella. Everything is fine, until it's not. What happens if little Ella accidentally or intentionally hurts the dog?

Even if the dog allows the pain 99 times - who's to say she'll allow it on the 100th?

no really, your right. another thing that worries me is she got the dog at 1 year old after she had the baby...... who knows what that dog has been through? I dont pick on just the bullys, I feel that way about ANY dog that looks and acts the way my sisters does
my Chubby is german/chow mixed and I will never fully trust him alone with any child or stranger.... I know an asshole and he is an asshole
I dont ever put my faith in to my dog to "do the right thing"..... he is a dog, he has his reasons and Ill never know.

A 5-year-old boy died after a neighbor's pit bull attacked him on Sunday afternoon.
John Harvard was playing outside his family's Riverside, Alabama home when the dog attacked him, Mayor Rusty Jessup told MailOnline. The attack took place between 3 and 3:30pm.
Older brother Bradley, 9, was on his way home from a nearby friend's house to get John ready for supper at their grandmother's home - only to see the pit bull's attack.

HOUSTON – The 2-year-old who was attacked and nearly killed by a pit bull last month underwent another surgery Monday morning.
Chelsi Camp, 23, was pet sitting the dog for her boyfriend when it suddenly attacked her daughter in their League City apartment. The dog bit Camp as she tried to get it away from Kenzi.
The pit bull had the victims cornered in a bathroom when police arrived. An officer shot the dog and it was later euthanized.
Kenzi was airlifted to Memorial Hermann Hospital with severe injuries to her face and head. The toddler underwent a seven-hour surgery and was in ICU for three days, according to relatives.
Kenzi is out of ICU and doing well, but she faces a long road to recovery.
Camp is by her daughter’s side at the hospital as she recovers from injuries on her hands and arms.
Friends, family and total strangers are raising money to help with the growing pile of medical bills.
A fund has been set up online if you’d like to make a donation.
A fundraiser will also be held Friday night at The Man Cave Cigar Lounge in League City.
