3 Year Old Boy Fatally Shoots Father

A three-year-old boy accidentally shot and killed his father after finding the man's loaded handgun in a southern Indiana home.

The 33-year-old man had brought his gun with him on Friday to a home he was remodelling in Salem, about 40km northwest of Louisville, Kentucky.

Indiana State Police Sergeant Jerry Goodin said the man, his wife, their three children and a juvenile relative were at the home when the three-year-old boy apparently found the gun and it accidentally discharged, fatally wounding the man.

Goodin says the case remains under investigation and prosecutors will determine if any adult should face charges. He calls the case a "tragic accident and a tragic mistake" of leaving a gun within a child's reach.

you dont need laws in place for people who leave their guns within a child's reach these days. you pay with your life.

yea yea but ofcourse some kids shoot themselves or some other kid. & the older kids shoot themselves when they do shrooms.

So he came home and put his gun down and went about his business and got shot for his own stupidity?, well when the kid is of age to understand that poor soul will have to live with the fact he killed his dad, you try telling someone it was an accident and it wasn't their fault, they are going to feel guilt for life.

People need to be more responsible. It only takes a minute for kids that age to get into things. Watch your kids!!!

The baby will feel guilt, unless he remembers daddy as a prick, but, the adult is to blame!

My great nephew is 17 months old and he is a climber now. Makes me nervous when I visit. If I were babysitting, I'd hide his little stool and pick him up and ask him to show me what he wants. He knows.
