Three siblings found dead in a house in the French region of Burgundy may have been murdered by their mother, prosecutors said on Saturday.

The brothers, twins aged 18 months and their 6-year-old sibling, were found by a family friend in Gergy, a town of 2 500 people located about 350km south-east of Paris.

The mother was found near the children on the floor "under the influence of medication" and was taken to hospital.

She was going through a separation and had moved to the town a few months ago, a neighbour told the AFP news agency.

It's not that uncommon for animals to kill their own young.

Humans are animals.

It happens all the time.

Usually, though, it's done mentally, emotionally and spiritually.

The body is left to wander for years in an essentially vacant state.

I always think like that when I see stories like this. almost instantly, all species where it is common for the mother to kill their young flies through my head. animals; that's what humans ultimately are. Anything that man makes is still natural regardless of what it is because humans are animals

No mystery here; just another "mother" killing her kids.
