Re: 28 dead in Connecticut school shooting massacre
Yep the facebook site is gone. That must have been him. Thanks to the person who posted killer’s picture. He looks like the typical outcast. I am still in shock, even more so than the Va Tech shootings in 2007. Something has to be done. There are way too many school shootings and other public shootings going on...and its mostly all kids doing the shootings. However, things like this happen all over the world. e.g. China - a man stabbed several kids just yesterday or today. I just don't understand. @Impotent Rage - I agree with you that banning guns in the USA won't work. It won't. Guns are too engrained in American society. Plus we border Mexico and I don’t need to explain the violence there (although they get a lot of the guns from us!) but that’s not the problem. It’s the psycho’s that get their hands on the guns. I’m American and I like guns. I hunt and target shoot. It’s a freedom our forefathers wrote into our constitution….it would be very hard to remove that amendment and I would strongly vote against a ban. Stronger gun control….maybe. Educate parents and others to protect their firearms? Yes. Better counseling and knowledge of why people do this? Yes. I don’t know what the answer is and I don’t think anyone does know the answer. It is the irresponsibility of the gun owners who are the problem IMO. |

The kind that finds it amusing how a country bans marijuana yet sells high powered weaponry. Ill say again, where are your conceal permit holders? Where are your gun lobbyists with the rambo shirts protecting innocent people? Oh right, at shooting ranges or looking for a reason to use it when getting into car accidents. Keep on thinking your gun laws will stay the same and one day it will bite you in the ass. |

Re: 28 dead in Connecticut school shooting massacre
Where I'm from it's incredibly hard for a civilian to get a CCW. Pretty much the only people that get them are business owners that frequently deal with large sums of cash. As far as I know you can't CCW at school's but laws may vary by counties. If someone had a gun and went after that guy and the cops are around, do you think the cops would think he's helping or a threat? I will agree, it's far too easy for crazies to buy guns. Banning them at this point isn't going to get rid of a majority of guns. |

Wrong pictures, wrong facebook, wrong twitter. People, please stop following this media circus until the facts have been released. It is utterly pointless to speculate on half-assed "facts" from news stations who are fighting to be the first to have the full breaking story.

Re: 28 dead in Connecticut school shooting massacre
CCWs are one of the main reasons the gun lobby puts forward to protect a person with a weapon. I do not see how that argument is upheld when it comes to soft targets like malls, schools and colleges. Guns are too ingrained into AMerican society but so is the "I'm a fucking badass mofo" with a hero complex. Many people dream of saving lives, the same goes for gun holders. Combine the two and you get delusions of grandeur. They think people will give warning signs or say "hey I'm a terrorist, lets shoot!" When in reality its the son of a teacher who walks into her classroom, blasts her with a gun and goes "hi kids, this aint the movies, you die". Hero complex+crazy people+bad gun control = constant shootings. I wont be surprised if by January two more mass shootings occur. |
