Re: 22 Yr Old Female Mauled to Death by Pitbull
I am NOT a fan of pitbulls, but in this case, it's very much like getting shot while trespassing. The takeaway lesson here is...Don't Trespass. People used to know this without being told. |

In what state can you legally use deadly force on a trespasser? From what I read you need to justify deadly force by reasonable fear of serious imminent bodily harm to oneself or others. That's pretty much standard everywhere. You can't just shoot someone for stealing your leaf blower. |

..and with a good mouthpiece, you would get acquitted if the DA in your jurisdiction had the balls to prosecute you in the first plce. Politics...crime....fearmongering....Makes for some interesting court cases...or lack thereof. |

I'm getting familiarized with some of the castle laws you have down south. You may have the term trespass and burglary confused. Trespass - To enter the owner's land or property without permission. Burglary - To entry into a building illegally with intent to commit a crime, especially theft. Not even in states with the most strongest castle doctrines can one use deadly force for trespassing unless you feel you life is immediate danger. That's not what happened in Port Huron.

OK...I see what you are saying...but down here, it is really a gray area so to speak because any time someone shoots a trespasser, if there is any reasonable chance that said trespasser was intent on doing ANY kind of bodily harm,. Had a relative actually get acquitted of manslaughter because the trespasser "tried to assault " him. Im not agreeing, but this is the south. |

Re: 22 Yr Old Female Mauled to Death by Pitbull
Yeah, but there is the point that it was done by the dogs. So it's only fitting that they pay the price. A human life is infinitely more important than an animals. Even if she was a dumb bitch, that's beside the point. Once a dog tastes blood at all, let alone kills someone, that dog is no longer any good to anyone. He is then ten times greater a threat even to the owner. There is no saving a dog that has done something like this. |

Re: 22 Yr Old Female Mauled to Death by Pitbull
Yeah, but just think how fast theft would decrease if you could shoot people for it. I wouldn't say she literally deserved to die, but as I previously said, I don't mourn for her either. She was a dumb cunt that did something that couldn't have ended any differently than it did. Don't stick fire to gasoline and then bitch about it when you get burned!
