Perhaps if "Jane" had spent some time reading about silverback gorillas, she might have realized that males challenge each other by looking their opponent in the eye, and then bearing their teeth (i.e. "staring" and "smiling" at each other.) Bokito was never excited to see her, he was pissed!

The whole story becomes utterly incredible when you learn that zoo staff HAD TOLD HER THIS, and asked her to stop!!! Instead, she relied on her "feelings" and connection of "spiritual auras" with animals to guide her actions. Just another moon-bat, PETA clod.

And the real tragedy??? ..... That the zookeepers stopped Bokito's attack, denying DR pictures, and "Moon-Bat Jane" a Darwin Award.

Yeah, the vast majority of women think with their emotions instead of brains that they don't have. NOT all women, but far too many are like that. Especially when it comes to animals and kids.

They are not programmable robots that can be set like an alarm clock or coffee pot and leave to do their job.

Police K9's don't work on their own, nor do herding dogs, nor military dogs.

There are dogs that are left to guard a herd or flock, or yard - but can you say how far they're going to go when a threat is present? Even if they've only barked 99 other times - they might take it further the 100'th. It's something that a dog owner always has to keep in mind.

I agree with all of this. No dog (or person) is 100% predictable, which is why even with a fully trained animal, you shouldn't be taking stupid chances.

but those examples are not blatantly invading another persons SPACE and taking another persons property....Not doing any DIRECT harm....
