14 Year Old Ripped Apart By Crocodile
Two terrified boys watched in horror as their 14-year-old brother was torn apart by a crocodile. The three lads were swimming in the Mpofu River in northern Swaziland when the animal pounced on the teenager, dragging him underwater and then tossing him in the air before eating him. Police said the victim, Sikhombiso Hlawe, was ripped apart and only his upper torso and left leg were found by divers after the attack on Saturday. A local source said: "One brother jumped on top of the crocodile and it used its tail to fend him off. "Fortunately for him he was thrown to the river bank where he was able to run to safety. "The crocodile turned its focus on to the deceased, pulling him underwater. His brothers stood there transfixed watching the whole incident unfold. "The crocodile pulled him underwater, lifted him to the surface before it disappeared with him for good." The death came a day after the three orphans' grandmother died, leaving them without a guardian. Police spokeswoman Wendy Hleta said: "The police still send a strong warning that people should avoid taking risks of crossing or swimming in swollen waters." |

Wow. And the sad part is the animal was doing only what comes natural. It was not a vicious attack, but, rather, an attempt to survive. So sorry for the poor kid, though. Really sorry.  |

Great story, Kel!! Who needs pictures? The images that those words conjured up have left me stunned. The reaction to standing by and just watching helplessly....they must have been in total shock.  |
