A 10-year-old boy who IS claimed was the youngest fighter in the Islamic State is being hailed as a glorified martyr by militants who say the child was killed during US airstrikes.
Shocking pictures were posted to social media this week to honour Abu Ubaidah — a youngster pictured grinning from ear to ear as he wields machine guns and dons military fatigues.

Militants also claimed that Ubaidah’s father — Baghdadi — was also killed along with his son by airstrikes two weeks ago. One photo shows him standing next to the boy with his arm around his shoulders as the two pose for the camera.

The images emerged on the Twitter account of the Islamic State Times, but have yet to be independently verified, according to the Daily Mail.
Back in September, a video alerting the public to the death of Ubaidah and his father was released by the pro-ISIS media group, Al-A’amaq.
Despite the video being eventually removed, pictures continue to be circulated by supporters.
Ubaidah was photographed before his death standing inside a house while brandishing a giant machine gun bigger than his entire body.
But the size of the weapon doesn’t phase him one bit — he still manages to hold it steady and crack a smile for the picture.
Another photo posted by the Islamic State Times shows a different young boy dubbed a “Chinese brother” who they claim was martyred during an operation in the town of Suleiman Beg in Salahuddin.
The barbaric ISIS militants have been known to use children referred to as “cubs” to portray their message of carrying out jihad.
A chilling video was posted to Youtube last month which showed a masked child firing off an AK47 assault rifle and devoting his life to Islam. The boy appeared to be around six-years-old.
