A travel magazine's readers have rated Sacramento one of the ten most unfriendly cities in the United States. Sure, there was gunfire in broad daylight on Wednesday at the city's largest mall and a couple of years ago somebody stole the expensive bike of visitor Lance Armstrong, but is Sacramento that mean-spirited?

The readers of Conde Nast Traveler magazine think so, one comment basically telling the city to, "Get classy, Sacramento."

Each of the cities that unfortunately made the top ten list get a paragraph explaining their poor scores.

Here is Sacramento's:

"Sacramento might be California's capital, but it's, "a real disappointment." One reader comments that it's a, "bit dingy, for being capital of such a beautiful state," and labels the city as, "not very impressive or classy or interesting."

Sacramento earned a score of 43.1. By contrast, the most friendly city, Charleston, SC , had a score of 91.5.

Here is the magazine's explanation for Charleston's friendly reputation:

"With, "sand, sun, history, good food, and friendly people," Charleston is a consistent hit with the travelers who venture to this, "gracious and beautiful," city, (in fact, it's also the No. 1 city in our entire Readers' Choice Survey, with high scores for ambience, restaurants and culture).

Nearby beaches and impressive architecture draw visitors, but it's the, "insanely nice," locals who enhance, "magnificent," bed and breakfasts and "amazing shopping." "The charm of this city brings me back every year," praised one devoted fan."

I've been to Charleston several times and it really is a friendly city. Also beautiful
