Maybe he deserved it...sure...but unless he was punching another person in the face he probably didn't...he was running away and trying to avoid it all...

There is some street etiquette...you don't hit a downed opponent (especially if they are unconscious) and you should probably drop it once one of the combatants flees...when you put pride before survival, especially on the streets, that just makes you a fucking dumb ass that deserves to die.
