It's called respect. It may have not been the best brutal fight, but for some people it's the thrill of the fight that matters, not the after effect  Someone doesn't have to be hospitalized for every fight.

Anyone who says the handshake was trash has clearly never been in this sort of situation for themselves in real life. It's great if they legitimately made up with that handshake, it means they likely got all their frustration out and that this is most likely where the cycle of retaliation will end for now. No after school shootings.
