Two Brothers Beat Up a Traffic Cop

Two brothers came to the traffic police department to sort out a protocol against a familiar driver. The conflict with inspector Mikhail K. escalated into a fight.

According to the officer, he was attacked and defended himself. According to the opponents, the inspector himself used a shovel first.

The video shows one of the brother entering the department being hurt by being beaten by a shovel used by a traffic cop.

Later on he and the traffic cop entered the building and started fighting. His brother joined the party using the shovel to attack the traffic cop.

In the end, the brothers were charged with violence against a representative of authority and the traffic police inspector himself was made a defendant. He faces up to 5 years in prison.

Re: Two Brothers Beat Up a Traffic Cop

Where in eastern Europe is that
At the Krasnoslobodsk, russia, traffic police department. And now the inspector is a defendant in the case.

Here's the story. On May 19th of last year, the Pastukhov brothers, Nikolai and Mikhail, came to the department. One had once served in the traffic police, the other in the Russian National Guard.

They came to sort things out. Yes, to the department. Inspector Mikhail Kolmakov had previously filed a report for an administrative offense against an acquaintance of the Pastukhovs.

The driver was driving a MAZ truck without wearing a seat belt and also failed to cover the bulk cargo in the back.

The Pastukhov brothers first began making complaints to the inspector. Then they started beating him. The inspector says he fought back with whatever was at hand, a shovel from the service garage. But here's how it was reported in the local press.

"The traffic police officer, instead of filing a report and acting legally, went to the police garage, picked up a shovel, and struck one of the brothers several times, causing serious bodily harm.

The man was diagnosed with a temporal fracture." I can tell this sentence was dictated by someone.

According to the inspector, he fought back. According to the Pastukhovs, who attacked him, he beat them up. Word against word. But there were two brothers, so their word must have carried more weight.

Either way, the video already shows the next part of the story. The brothers, carrying a shovel, follow him into the traffic police station and begin beating the inspector.

The Pastukhov brothers were charged under Article 318 of the Criminal Code, intentional infliction of moderate bodily harm.

And police officer Kolmakov was charged with causing serious bodily harm to one of the brothers.

The harm he caused was so serious, so serious, that he immediately left the investigation for the SVO.

Now the inspector faces up to five years in prison. And you understand why the inspector didn't use his service weapon? Although there were grounds for it. He simply knew that his superiors would turn him in and make him the scapegoat.

I have a question for the local police leadership: do you seriously think it's okay for some tough guys to beat up an officer right in the building and for that officer to be prosecuted?

Is this how you raise the prestige of the profession and fight understaffing?

Should he have filed a report about the incident and acted according to the law?

By law, he should have pulled out his service weapon and shot both of them. By law, the entire department should have come to his aid and shot the attackers.

The esteemed leaders of the Krasnoslobodsk police probably think nothing terrible happened. Well, the guy will go to jail; it's his own fault. Yeah, right.

They turned in their officer, didn't help, and no shame.

A classic came to mind. "You sold us all out—the living and those who died but weren't afraid of a bandit's bullet—you sold us all out! Because of you, a black sheep, the bandits will think they can scare a Murovite."

The inspector has a court date in a few days. When he gets five years, we'll immediately see how the prestige of the police service will rise. Especially in Mordovia.

It's not for nothing that I constantly write that the time has come for our society to protect our police. Because this can't happen. Imagine such a situation in America? Huh? It can't happen? That's why there's a competition to become a police officer there.
