Re: Teen Girls Fighting with Cops to Avoid Arrest for Not Paying Subway Fare
Looks like West 125th St. in Harlem, NYC -- a major station stop in uptown Manhattan. The out-numbered pair of cops held this gang of girls long enough for reinforcements to show up and undercovers to arrive via the train, I think. (The fare is $2.25 unless you are a student and then you get a student pass, which I think is free. Seniors & disabled ride half fare.) Girls probably have a regular after-school routine and are tryin cause enough trouble and chaos to get away. Maybe thought they could hop the train and get away or get lost in the crowd. However, the cops had the train held in the station and undercovers (at least 2) combed the cars for the assailants, pulling them off of the cars and back into the station in custody. Nice coordination of police resources. Esp having female cops on the scene. Gang of chaotic teens no match for well-organized and determined police force. It is a particularly good display of restraint on the part of the police, since they could have brought the teens down quicker and w greater force, but instead took their time to get the job done while keeping everyone as safe as possible. Glad no one was hurt.
