I used to work in a school for "troubled teens". Things like this (and worse) happened on a regular basis. Only difference being, we were trained to restrain them.

Marlina Martinez, 15, said her female teacher, who is not being identified because she is not yet facing any charges, confiscated her makeup.

Martinez then called her mother on her cell phone to have her demand that her teacher give her back the makeup.

A high school teacher learned that lesson the hard way — when she tried to confiscate a student's beauty products during class.

Violence erupted at Cesar Chavez High School in Stockton, Calif. on Monday when irate 15-year-old Marlina Martinez fought back against the demands.

The fight broke out Monday at 12:30 p.m. when Marlina Martinez, 15, began applying makeup at the end of her math class. The incident started when the girl's makeup was taken away at the end of a math class.

Martinez called her mom on her cell phone to complain. The phone was then also confiscated, leading to a shouting match between the pair.

The duo can then be seen fighting on the floor before students break it up. Both brawlers had bruises and scratches following the incident.

Martinez has been charged with assault and was suspended for five days. She may still face expulsion.

The teacher, who has not been charged, is under investigation and is on paid administrative leave. The school district described the incident as "regrettable."
