Silat Instructor Beaten & Helmet Thrown at His Head After Abusing Minors
A 55-year-old silat instructor, M.Y, was arrested on Monday in Indonesia after a victim filed a formal report on April 3. Before being taken into police custody, M.Y was intercepted and assaulted by local residents who were outraged by the allegations. Regional Police intervened to secure the suspect and prevent further mob violence. Police investigations have confirmed at least five underage victims. Of these, three were victims of sexual intercourse and two were victims of molestation. The instructor used a self-purification ritual as a pretext, which involved giving victims massages and bathing them with flower water. These acts reportedly began as early as May 2025. M.Y is currently facing charges that carry a potential prison sentence of up to 12 years.  |
