Roma Supporters Attacking Liverpool Fans Before Champions League Meeting
A Liverpool supporter required lengthy medical treatment after a gang of Roma supporters launched an unprovoked attack ahead of the two sides' Champions League meeting at Anfield on Tuesday night. A group of around 35 to 40 supporters of the Italian side, many brandishing belts and at least one holding a hammer, knocked one Liverpool fan to the floor and needing an ambulance . The trouble started when the gang arrived at Anfield via the nearby Venmore Street. They then ambushed their English counterparts just outside the Kop before kick-off. |
