Re: Principal Attacks Student
Honestly, I think our hypersensitive, "let's cheer for our kids when they get 5th place" mentality is to blame. If a teacher, janitor, principal, security guard, stops you in school and demands that you listen to them, you do as you're told. The kid had no right to even think about shoving his principal. If the principal let's the kid continue with his deviant behavior, what kind of example is that setting for the others? He's practically be telling the students, "Hey I'm a pushover, go ahead and do whatever you want. I have no authority." I think those of you who side with the student in this case are the hypersensitive types. Get over it. The kid deserved it. Little prick.

Re: Principal Attacks Student
So far, the video has had more than 100,000 views. Some of those who have viewed it are upset because they say it shows Fells choking the student. But chairman Irvine Carvery said Monday that the board saw the entire video and that's not their interpretation of what happened. "We did not view it as choking. I can't speak to what's appropriate because every situation is individual. We can't all of a sudden start saying, 'Well, if this happens, this is what's going to happen,'" Carvery said. "Every incident is dealt with individually [after] a very extensive investigation." The board decided to remove Fells from his position as principal at the school after a board meeting last week. They did not follow staff advice to fire him. Instead he could be moved to a different school. Carvery said opinions about Fells's behaviour are divided evenly among those who support him and those who do not. "We are receiving emails from parents, and what we're finding is that 50 per cent of the emails are supporting Mr. Fells, 50 per cent are denouncing him. So, it's a real split out there in terms of the general public," he said. "We were privileged to a lot more information than the parents viewing that videotape. We have no qualms in saying that we support our decision, and the decision will go forward." Carvery hopes Fells will be posted to a new school in time for the start of the next school year. But, he said, that's up to board administrators, and no decision will be made before the end of this school year. Thats Bullshit. |
