Nottingham Stabbing
suspect has been arrested after a man was stabbed outside a Co-op supermarket. A man in his 30s was taken to hospital after he was attacked in Westdale Lane East, Gedling, Nottinghamshire, at about 22:30 BST on Tuesday. A search led police to arrest 45-year-old man in Bakersfield, Nottingham, at about 14:40 on Wednesday. He remains in police custody while the victim remains in hospital "with serious injuries", police said. A large cordon was set up by officers outside the store which the force said would remain "for some time". Supt James Woolley, of Nottinghamshire Police, said the force was not looking for any other suspects. I like ham |

Re: Nottingham Stabbing
Sorry, but I was under the impression that they used bows and arrows in the Nottingham Forest area! When did this change? |

Re: Nottingham Stabbing
Happened in May. The victim – a man in his 30s – was left with serious injuries following the attack and spent two weeks in hospital. Simon McHugh, of Harrogate Road, Carlton, was arrested the day after the attack and charged with attempted murder and possession of a bladed article in a public place in connection with the incident. Additionally, the 46-year-old was charged with burglary and theft of a motor vehicle after car keys and a car were stolen from an address in Burton Joyce hours after the Gedling incident. He was further charged with six separate offences relating to incidents in Derbyshire on 5 May 2025. They include two counts of false imprisonment, assault by beating, possession of a knife blade in a public place and two counts of making threats to kill. He remains in custody awaiting court proceedings. A second person has since been charged in connection with the stabbing investigation. Paige Tomlinson, of Jessops Lane, Gedling, has been charged with conspiracy to commit kidnap and two counts of perverting the course of justice. The 34-year-old is due to appear at Nottingham Magistrates’ Court on 1 August. The attack was described as "brutal" by local media, sparking community outrage over knife crime, which had risen 7% across England and Wales in the preceding year according to Office for National Statistics data. |

Re: Nottingham Stabbing
: In January 2026, Simon McHugh was sentenced to 19 years in jail for attempted murder, and Paige Tomlinson was sentenced to 18 months in prison for assisting an offender and perverting the course of justice. Stabbed the guy 80 times.
