I don't think that was a war veteran. For a start, the chances of surviving a battlefield quadruple amputation are almost nil, and secondly, the type of trauma that will remove all your limbs on a battlefield will usually remove most of your face aswell.
But I don't think the issue here is how he came to be that way. Regardless of that fact, it remains a hilarious video, because I love it when the underdog wins, and this is the champion of all underdog videos.
