Liam Sharp, 30, has appeared in court accused of running over unnamed victim - left seriously injured - during a mass street brawl in Sheffield, UK.

The man was hit by a car launching him flying 20ft up in the air.

Police were called to reports of a fight on Staniforth Road in Darnall at about 7pm on Sunday evening.

The victim was found lying in the road with serious injuries.

South Yorkshire Police said he is in a stable condition in hospital after being discovered with "injuries consistent with being run over by a vehicle".

Sharp was charged with Section 18 assault – wounding with intent to do grievous bodily harm – and dangerous driving causing serious injury.

He was remanded in custody by magistrates on Tuesday.

Police said another 34-year-old man arrested on suspicion of attempted murder has been bailed pending further inquiries.

The video - apparently shot by a bystander on a mobile phone - shows about a dozen or more men, some wielding baseball bats, surrounding two cars, hitting the windows.

One of the two cars speeds off and the focus of the attack switches to the remaining car which gets its windows smashed.

Then a vehicle can be seen speeding past the group - which is when the victim is hit and sent flying.

People can then be heard screaming before the video cuts out.

It was an Asian gang smashing the windows, the whites were running for their lives innit !!
