He is so understanding because its probably not a far cry from what he deals with on the regular. I have a friend who is a defense lawyer and she says most clients are ungrateful and don't seem to get that the defender is trying to help them...that or they are cry babies that she has to yell at to man up lol

That's true. Public defenders should be commended. They work for comparatively little money defending the poor, when they could be in private practice making a mint defending Madoff-like scumbags.
