I've always felt like such an odd ball for not ever having a team or understanding the whole rivalry thing.

The boiled down basics are always the same: both teams try to make the ball go in the hole the most or over the line the most, all year, so they can be the "best" and get shiny things in return. And even though none of the wins or losses ever have any real effect on fans' lives, they still eat, sleep and breathe it.

I'm not knocking sports or sports fans or anything, I'm just basically airing out my confusion and ignorance.
