No, as long as he stays within the rules. Hockey players give consent to anything that is legal within the rules of the sport.

Governmental laws do not get pushed aside because of "rules of a sport". Would he be prosecuted? Doubtful. Sure as shit would be sued for wrong death by the next of kin.
