Re: Guys Settle It in the Backyard
This is the way you settle your differences. No sucker-punches, no head-kicks after he’s down. Let him up, acknowledge your win and walk away. Great post. |

Re: Guys Settle It in the Backyard
Yeah but...I consider that a cheap win. It is clear the winner spent much of his life on the wrestling mats. If you immobilize an opponent with takedowns, headlocks and leg-whatevers, then punch out his defenseless face, that isn't much different than sucker punches, in my book. Sure, whatever it takes to win, etc., but toe-to-toe is a much more dignified and sporting way to settle differences. |

I don’t know man, it’s not like he attacked someone already laying on the ground. He used the skills he had and why wouldn’t he? Street fights are no fair games. |

Re: Guys Settle It in the Backyard
Untrained fighters are funny. People think they’re badass with big arms but don’t know how to fight. They grab and hold each other then after getting to the ground start hitting. Pretty silly if you ask me. The good fights are when they stay on their feet, dodge punches and land punches. They don’t grab each other to wrestle fight.. |

Re: Guys Settle It in the Backyard
The guy must have had some kind of training. He got him in a full mount and ground and pounded him. It's called MMA and that's what people do when they know how to fight. I like to watch stand up myself, but you're wrong If you think that taking someone to the ground is not how you can also win a fight.

Re: Guys Settle It in the Backyard
Thanks for the education. When kids fight it’s usually not professional. Just because dude got some ground and pound doesn’t make him a “trained” fighter. He was bigger than the other guy and was lucky the other kid didn’t know how to box. P.s. There are NO rules in fighting. I’ve grabbed a couple ball sacks in my drinking days long ago. It doesn’t matter how badass you are. When your balls are the wrong hands it’s devastating pain and turns you into a blithering idiot tears and all. And if you’re able to get up you have a hard time trying to walk, if you can. Some get carried out. It ends fights pretty quickly. |

Re: Guys Settle It in the Backyard
If either had any training, it wasn't very good. The guy that was on the bottom was clearly uneducated when it came to ground fighting, and the guy on top didn't do anything particularly skillful when he was trying to mount him or when he mounted him. It was just a bunch of dumb elbows and punches. I don't think either were particularly skillful, they just went out there and went ham.

Re: Guys Settle It in the Backyard
It used to be when most of the little farm towns in the Midwest had boxing rings set up in the middle of town just to settle grievances
