According to the Ho Chi Minh City Police, on February 26, the social network posted a clip of a girl who was abused by a young man in an apartment elevator in Tan Phu District.

Immediately after receiving the information, the Ho Chi Minh City Police directed the Tan Phu District Police to promptly investigate and verify the incident.

The initial results determined that, at 23:40 on February 25, 2020, Tran Hiep Hai (SN 1989, residing in District 11, staying in Tan Phu District) and Nguyen Thi Ngoc Trang (SN 1993, living in District 11, Hai's girl) goes into the elevator of Trung Dong Plaza apartment, Hoa Thanh ward, Tan Phu district, Ho Chi Minh City.

Due to emotional conflicts, Hai used her hands to continuously hit the head and face areas of Trang. After that, Hai used a kick on the elevator door to make the elevator door stuck, so the apartment guards had to support to open the elevator door.

After that, the man also broke down the elevator to stop the operation. The whole incident was recorded by the elevator's security camera and posted on social networks.

After the incident, authorities worked with the man in the clip. According to the declaration, Hai and the girl in the clip have an affair with each other. On the evening of February 25, the two went to the elevator of the Middle East Plaza apartment to move and argued with each other. Exasperated, Hai hit his girlfriend with his hand.

Next, Hai smashed the elevator leading to damage, shut down, unable to move and call the Management Board of the apartment, security to open.

Management Board of Trung Dong Plaza found Hai damaged the elevator so he requested compensation. However, the two sides could not agree on the compensation so they went to Hoa Thanh ward police to resolve.

According to Tan Phu District Police, the victim did not have any criminal investigation and prosecution request with Hai.
