Group of Priests Kick, Punch and Use Coconuts to Beat Up Drunk Devotees
Temple authorities and priest representatives claim the devotees were intoxicated, causing chaos, interfering with the Sasan-kathi (holy stick) procession, and misbehaving during the Aarti ritual. Police have launched an investigation and are scanning CCTV footage to identify all involved priests. The village of Wadi Ratnagiri observed a complete shutdown on Monday to protest the violence. |
