In the Abaseen Diner, a kebab and takeaway restaurant on the Wicker in Sheffield, a fight erupted on August 23, 2024 after a dispute arose over having been served beef instead of lamb due to a mix-up.

They smashed doors, windows, and caused significant damage estimated at £2,000. Mainly windows were shattered.

South Yorkshire Police arrested five men (ages 20, 21, 33, 34) on the day for affray and criminal damage. Another 19 year old a few days later for affray.

It’s only human to make mistakes. I’m guessing those guys creating trouble might learn from theirs once they get through the court of law’s process.

Diet is a pretty big deal, so I can empathize with the customers for being very angry. That could have a been a religious prohibition or simply an allergy that could kill them. I would bet that the workers were not apologetic and that, understandably, led to the chaos.

If someone served me dog/cat/rats and I found out about it, I just might react the same way or very likely even worse.
