doubt it, teachers usually get a slap on the wrist for these type of situations, it also depends how rich the kids parents and how good they lawyers are

Well, the teacher started it. Respect for authority is fine and good, but when a teacher puts their hands on a student for ANY reason, they have to accept what comes next. Kid was probably being a mouthy little ass, but that's never a valid reason to put your hands on someone else's child. |

I agree that the teacher was wrong for putting his hands on the kid, but I would want my kid to immediately go to the office and make a complaint and call myself or his mother to inform us of the situation rather than punch the teacher in the face. I would want to see the school investigate this and see what their reaction/punishment was before taking it any further. Being the kid that punched his teacher in the face is not a good thing for your reputation. Even if the teacher pushed you first.
