It’s interesting, in a weird sort of way a I guess. Not counting domestic violence I witnessed in my childhood from dad to mom/kids. I have never witnessed a fight. Not even an angry shoving type fight that could possibly come before an all out fight. Not once. 33 years old and I have never seen two (or more) people beating each other up. Ever! I hope to never witness one. I’d probably get hurt attempting to stop it.    RiversEdge have you ever witnessed a fight? As a bystander, what did you do? |

I broke up numerous fights, and was trained to bring them (the inmates) down with the most minimal force needed to escort them to the ground and secure them. 20 years of being a detention officer taught me to give respect in order to gain respect. I was in charge of the maximum unit for most of that time, which held some of the most dangerous criminals in our jail. The only significant injury received in all that time was a cracked index finger when a door was slammed into it. Proud to say I only missed a day of work due to the experience. So I've definitely seen my share. Retired now, so living in a land of relative peace and serenity at the moment. |
