I've worked a door and bounced. Once I got a guy outside, I would go back inside and shut the door. If he comes back in, then we repeat the ejection. Following him outside wasn't necessary (my opinion), you know that is just going to become a confrontation. There is potential liability if following someone outside leads to a scuffle on public property. You aren't protecting the establishment at that point and it could be argued you were the aggressor. These drunken assholes all have their attorney on speed dial.
