On September 15, Moscow's Dorogomilovsky Court arrested three people accused of causing a disturbance on a commuter train in the Moscow region.

They are all charged under Article 213 of the Russian Criminal Code—hooliganism committed by a group of persons.

The incident gained widespread attention after a video of the trio brandishing a knife and threatening a ticket inspector and a man who intervened on their behalf surfaced online. The following day, all three were violently detained by riot police.

On September 15, the capital's court took Gasan Dibirov, Nuri Murtazaliev and Magomedrasul Kurbanov, accused of hooliganism, into custody. All three were arrested for two months.

The men were detained after they refused to pay for their ride on the Volokolamsk-Serpukhov electric train on September 12 and were reprimanded by a female ticket inspector.

One of the passengers stood up for the latter. Then Dibirov, Murtazaliev and Kurbanov began to swing their fists and swear.

The recording shows, in particular, Kurbanov first punching the man who stood up for the ticket inspector, and then pulling out a knife and starting to point it at his opponent.

"I'll show you your ***!" one of the troublemakers shouts back.

Tragedy was avoided largely because passengers were filming what was happening on their phones, and men in official bibs arrived at the scene and forced Dibirov, Murtazaliev and Kurbanov out of the carriage. However, for some reason they were later allowed to leave.

The next day, numerous videos from the train appeared on the Internet. They were picked up by popular authors of Telegram channels. On September 13, the Zergulio channel expressed hope that the police would identify the troublemakers and bring them to justice.

That same day, military blogger Alexey Zhivov published footage of Dibirov and Murtazaliev being delivered to the police station. In the video, the men apologize for their actions in broken Russian.

A little later, blogger Maxim Divnich published an exclusive video of the arrest itself. In it, riot police officers burst into what appears to be a dormitory and force the man who took part in the attack to lie face down on the floor.

It would later become known that this was Murtazaliev. He would say that he was originally from Dagestan.

Dibirov and Kurbanov will be detained on the street near the entrance to the building. "Lie down, bitch!", a riot police officer shouts in the video, putting the men on the concrete floor. Later, all three will be taken to the police station. Dibirov and Murtazaliev will apologize on camera and at the police station.

"During the course of operational-search activities, officers from the Linear Directorate of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Russia at the Moscow-Kurskaya station identified the violators and, with the forceful support of Rosgvardia officers, detained them and took them to the transport police duty station," the press service of the Central Federal District Ministry of Internal Affairs' Transport Directorate reported the same day.

The Eastern Investigative Department of the Investigative Committee for Transport has opened a criminal case for hooliganism committed by a group of individuals. Under Part 2 of Article 213 of the Russian Criminal Code, Dibirov, Murtazaliev, and Kurbonov face up to seven years in prison.
