Cops Arrest Ninja, Waving Nunchucks Yelling He Wants to Beat Up U.S Sen. Joe Liberman
Vernon police say they arrested a man who was dressed as a ninja and waving nunchucks while yelling about wanting to beat up U.S. Sen. Joe Lieberman.

Garland Eastman, 30, of Vernon was charged with breach of peace.

Police say he was brought to Rockville General Hospital for a psychiatric evaluation and later released.

Authorities say they received several emergency calls about Eastman, who witnesses say was standing at the corner of Route 83 and Regan Road at about 11 a.m.

Officers pulled out bean bag and taser guns.

Eastman couldn't be reached Monday.

He has no public phone listing, and it's not clear whether he has a lawyer.

Public records show Eastman used to live in Memphis, Tenn.

They were using OC shots from a airgun. It keeps officers at a safe distance to disperse OC at the guy. He was on PCP and obviously it had no effect. Using K9 on this guy could have gone 2 ways. He would not feel the bites and could hurt the dog or he would resist and get wounded severely by the bites. The officers did as trained, but going against a person on PCP is like trying to take down a zombie who feels no pain and has incredible strength.
