A violent incident occurred on May 15, 2025, on Route T11 (formerly Route 55) in Guadalajara. Security cameras captured how a man, wearing a jacket with private security logos, brutally attacked a public transport driver. The attack began with verbal abuse while the driver was on his phone during a vehicle stop.

The situation escalated rapidly when the attacker escalated from insults to physical violence. He repeatedly punched the driver, Daniel Hernández Ibarra, until he pulled a metal object (possibly aluminum) from his backpack, striking the driver hard in the head. The impact left the driver unconscious and immobile in his seat, held only by his seatbelt.

The attack occurred while the driver had the vehicle stopped and was talking to the insurance company, having previously collided with another truck just above the intersection of Lázaro Cárdenas and Mandarina streets in Guadalajara. However, the assailant wanted Daniel to start the vehicle.

The man was already late coming home from work and our colleague had a minor mishap, a traffic accident. The man, annoyed, told us to give it to him, that he was late, and the colleague said: 'How am I going to move if I just crashed? Excuse me, my colleague will be coming from behind and I'll pass everyone,'" explained Daniel Hernández's colleague.

The video shows that the attack lasted several minutes, beginning with shoving and punching. None of the passengers present attempted to intervene or separate the attacker. When the driver was knocked unconscious by a metal thermos, all the passengers left the vehicle without providing assistance. The attacker immediately fled upon seeing the severity of the driver's condition.

The driver was hospitalized in critical condition, requiring intubation and slipping into a coma. His condition is currently reported as serious.

The Jalisco Prosecutor's Office already has an investigation into this case, but has not yet been able to arrest the assailant. Based on the uniform he was wearing, it is known that he apparently works for the private security company "Caherengo."
