Brazilian Couples Get Into A Fight Over Jealousy

The case, recorded in the municipality of Caucaia, in the Metropolitan Region of Fortaleza (RMF), caught the attention of people in the surrounding area, who filmed the incident. According to Yohanna, however, the part that scared her most was not recorded: she says that the man who attacked her appears, at another moment, holding “a huge rock, to throw at us”.

“It was at that moment that everyone said 'run, run', and we started running, but luckily he fell. And the guy who was making sandwiches, who was there, stopped him on the ground, so he wouldn't attack us. Then we went to the other side and I don't know what happened, we ran so he wouldn't attack us with the stone. I tried to watch videos, to see if anyone had the stone, but I think everyone was scared. Because he came running and we didn't know who he was going to attack. I don’t know him very much, and I was very afraid that something worse would happen”, she says, when talking about what happened.

As reported, the confusion was caused by an attack of jealousy on the part of the other woman. She claims that when she was going to the bathroom, a man looked at her and his partner noticed and didn't like it. “I went to the bathroom and saw the attacker looking at me. When he came back from the bathroom he was next to this woman. She saw him looking at me. When we sat down at a place to eat, she came and hit me on the back and started having a jealous attack,” she says.

In the images mentioned by Yohanna, it is possible to see the moment in which she initially argues with another woman. At one point, a man comes out of a car and starts swearing at her and punches the victim in the face. At this moment, another man tries to break up the fight, but is also attacked and ends up falling to the ground with the attacker exchanging punches and kicks.

The Civil Police of the State of Ceará (PCCE) reported that it is investigating the circumstances of the case and that a Police Report (BO) was registered on Monday afternoon (1st), at the police station of the 2nd Police District (2nd DP). The investigation was then transferred to the 31st Police District Station (31st DP), a Civil Police unit that carries out investigations into the case.
