That wasn’t a night club. It was a karaoke establishment. China has the same nightclubs that are present in the West. In the big cities, like Beijing, some nightclubs are huge. But they are filled with prostitutes and foreigners; local girls don’t go to nightclubs. In the smaller cities, though, the prostitution is the same, but foreigners are rare and underage local girls go there a lot. They are almost always dropouts and can be really young around 12-15 years old. It’s really sad because your future is extremely bleak in China without higher education. And that has been the case for centuries in China, they place extreme value on education, which is very different from the West. |
