Video shows the moment a knife-wielding man was beaten with a shovel and metal pole in Melbourne on Tue, 23 November 2021. The scene, filmed between Ballarat Rd and Station Rd in Deer Park on Sunday, shows a brawl between three people — reportedly a woman, her partner and her ex-boyfriend. A car is partially covered with blood and appears to be mounted on a nature strip before a man opens the driver’s side door clutching a large knife. However, another man soon joins the chaos, appearing to strike his opponent with a shovel and metal pole. The driver was then knocked unconscious and dragged along the ground by the second man. Witnesses were heard also screaming as the pair’s bloody scuffle continued on the suburban roadside. Victoria Police said one man has been charged following the incident after he was transported to hospital under police guard. The 59-year-old Caroline Springs man has been charged with multiple offences, including intentionally cause injury, unlawful assault, careless driving and threats to kill. He was remanded to appear in Sunshine Magistrates Court on November 22. |
