A Colorado Springs woman who hid in a bedroom closet during a break-in leapt out and screamed at the intruders, startling them long enough for officers to close in and arrest two suspects, according to CBS Denver.

Meg Zorn called 911 on Nov. 11, 2011, after she heard people trying to force their way into her home, the station reported. She retreated to her bedroom and hid in the closet, whispering to the dispatcher as the intruders moved through the house.

On the recording, Zorn can be heard telling the dispatcher, "They're trying to break the window," and moments later, "They're coming into my house!" She pleaded, "Please hurry, they came in the back." The dispatcher assured her, "They're on their way. I'm going to stay on the phone with you until officers are there," and later told her, "I'm showing they're pulling up in the area."

Zorn said she understood the situation had turned serious once the intruders reached her bedroom. "I realized when they were in my bedroom that these were not kids," she told CBS Denver. She said she doubted officers would arrive in time. "I was just thinking at that point they're not going to make it in time," she said.

As the intruders neared her hiding spot, Zorn jumped out of the closet and screamed at them, according to the report. The outburst startled the pair, who fled as police reached the home. Two suspects were arrested after a short chase through the neighborhood.

Zorn credited the responding officers with ending the encounter. "Seeing several, five or more, cops out my front door, they were ten feet tall and bulletproof," she said.
