Two men were arrested after two sisters, 16 and 13, hid in a bathroom cabinet and whispered to a 911 dispatcher while burglars worked through their south Nashville home on Monday, June 29, 2015.

The girls were alone in the house that morning after their parents had left for work. About 9:15 a.m., they looked out the kitchen window and saw two men dressed in black trying to force the back door.

The older sister called 911, and the two ran into the bathroom off their parents' bedroom, where they climbed into a cabinet and sat side by side on a shelf. "There's two men outside my house. I think they're trying to break in. Me and my sister are home alone," the older girl told the dispatcher. As the dispatcher asked for more, she said: "They're in the house. Please hurry. We are in the very back in my parent's bedroom bathroom."

Officers arrived while the men were still there. One of them, driving a maroon Ford Crown Victoria across the yard, abandoned the car a short distance away and ran. A police dog tracked him to the area behind the Edmondson Pike public library, where he was arrested. The second man went into the bathroom where the girls were hiding, then tried to run and was taken into custody outside.

Brian Tomberlind, 31, was charged with burglary. Carlos Murillo, 29, was charged with aggravated burglary and possession of burglary tools and was booked on a 30,000 dollar bond. Officers found a shotgun, stolen musical instruments, a computer, jewelry and cash in the car.

The sisters were not identified. Police credited their decision to hide and stay on the line with allowing officers to reach the house while both men were still inside.

The recording is the older sister's 911 call, running about four and a half minutes, most of it whispered from inside the cabinet.
