On March 25, 2023, Chicago police were notified of shots fired near 2200 S. Sacramento while four officers were on patrol. The officers then saw a large group of people standing outside.

Two officers got out to patrol the block. The other two officers continued looking for other people from the earlier group. One officer engaged with an individual nearby while a second officer continued on foot. After hearing sounds on the stairs near the rear of a porch, the second officer approached and announced their office.

Two juveniles were taken into custody after officers recovered two handguns.

While officers were standing in the alley, a group of unknown individuals appeared at the mouth of the alley. An unidentified member of the group fired toward officers, and one officer fired his weapon in the direction of the individuals.

Officers ran after the group and arrested two individuals. A weapon was recovered nearby.
