In Dec. 2014 a woman dialed 911 from her Greensboro (NC) home to say that she had exchanged gunfire with her husband, and that her husband had been hit. The two got into a dispute and the woman, a retired Greensboro police lieutenant, fatally shot her husband.

Greensboro detectives have determined that both parties fired shots in the Dec. 10 shooting that killed George Davis Bishop III at the couple’s Larchmont Drive residence, according to a news release from Greensboro police.

Police were dispatched to the home at about 1:10 p.m. after retired Greensboro police officer Brenda Johnson Bishop called 911 to report that she had shot her husband, the release states.
Her husband, George Bishop, 68, died later that day.

The preliminary investigation indicates that the shooting that occurred inside the residence at 1504 Larchmont began as a domestic dispute between the couple, the release states.
Detectives are continuing the investigation to determine the sequence of events in this incident.

Once the investigation is concluded, it will be presented to the assigned District Attorney for review and determination if criminal charges are appropriate, police said.

There are no previous calls for service to the couple’s home, the release states.
Brenda Bishop, 70, retired with the rank of lieutenant from the department on Nov. 30, 1998, police said.

no matter how old you are, domestic disputes are going to happen but this one is with an extreme outcome so i think there has been years of arguments and god knows what else that lead to this.
