Pictures & 911 Calls From The Republican St Party That Killed 7 Man paints "NOW" walks in and kills 7. Take a look at the letter killer made. On the street where Kyle Huff killed, there are Christmas lights on some of the trees. There is a sign at the bottom of the concrete steps of a house, the same ones Huff climbed March 26 -- that Saturday he proceeded to gun down six young people at a party. Now, there is a cardboard snowman with a scarf at the bottom of the steps.
"Welcome Winter," it says. Maybe a goodbye to the city's worst mass murder in more than 20 years? The blue house, at 2112 E. Republican St., has been painted green. On the porch, where Huff turned the shotgun on himself after his killing spree, "Merry Christmas" is sprayed in frosted paint on the windows. And on the front door, there is a wreath with a red bow. Christmas apparently has come even to the street where seven people died. These days, five new people live in the house, all students in their 20s. One of them, 22-year-old Jenna Lapp, was taking out the garbage last week. Such a mundane act in front of a house where such horror occurred. The bathroom door Huff shot through, missing two people cowering inside, was given to some of the friends of the people killed. They took it to the Burning Man festival and the door smoldered in the Nevada desert. Lapp didn't want to talk much about the shooting. Neither do her housemates. "The neighbors really want to put it behind them," she said. Who can blame them? A woman named Barbara, who lives next door to the house, wouldn't open her door or give her last name to protect her privacy. She spoke through a peephole -- one of those that's an actual hole you open from the inside. She said life's moved on. The new neighbors are nice. Sure, she thinks of the shooting still, she said. Then she said she had to go. She had dinner on the stove. Life's daily rhythms have returned. A man living across the street, who also didn't want to give his name, said only: "I don't want to talk about that. That was a long time ago." Neither did the house's owner, D. Gregg Doyle, who didn't return phone calls or e-mails requesting comment in the last week. Lapp said living in the house is just fine. She and her roommates have been there since October. "I think it's sad," she said, of the shootings. "But the house shouldn't be shunned because of it. "I think if there are ghosts, they were nice people who lived here," she said.
Certainly for the families of the loved ones, life never will have the same rhythm -- the way it did before March 26, 2006. But Lapp said nobody comes by and leaves flowers or remembrances any more. Outside 2112 E. Republican, there is a string of lights on the tree. And there is life inside. Lapp said she had to go. She had a doctor's appointment. The steps where Huff painted the word "NOW" before he entered the house with a shotgun and a semiautomatic handgun The house where Kyle Huff killed six young people on East Republican Street in Seattle boasted holiday cheer the week of Christmas, nine months after the shooting. |

Re: Pictures & 911 Calls From The Republican St Party That Killed 7 “Post rave dance party” he said to the 911 dispatcher he was drunk, but you know the caller was high as balls after a rave. Why he was worried about having a heart attack when the police were raiding the house.. poor kid, bet he’s been stone cold sober since. Hehe |
