Person Dies After Fleeing Officers Near 800 South Cicero
On December 12, 2023, Chicago police were involved in an attempt to apprehend a person near 800 South Cicero Avenue. The person fled on foot from Officer Ryan Young and Officer Brian Bernier and then collided with a semi-trailer truck. The person was fatally injured. The incident was captured on body-worn camera footage and third-party surveillance video, and was witnessed by multiple individuals. Officer Young and Officer Bernier acted within CPD policy while attempting to apprehend the person, and no allegations related to this incident were served on them.
