Officer-involved Shooting Near 8300 S. Kerfoot Avenue
On June 9, 2021, around 12 a.m., Chicago police were involved in an officer-involved shooting near 8300 S. Kerfoot Avenue. No caller report, gunshot-detection alert, or original dispatch assignment is listed. The involved officers were Oscar Ponce, star No. 9208, and Julian Marin, star No. 11585, both assigned to the 6th District. The involved individual was unknown. Oscar Ponce discharged his firearm at or in the direction of an unidentified subject. He was exonerated on allegations that he fired without justification and that he fired without identifying the appropriate target and/or taking precautions.
